Professional experience
Marc Linton is a British trained Department of Health licensed Occupational Therapist, obtaining his Bachelors in Occupational Therapy & Psychology at Glasgow Caledonian University, Scotland and his Masters in Business Psychology at Edinburgh’s Heriot Watt University.
Marc is trained in Sensory Integration Therapy, Reflex Integration Therapy, Neurodevelopmental Therapy, Visual Perceptual rehabilitation and Cognitive Skills development. He is also we versed in working with children to improve their fine and gross motor skills to improve both daily living and academic skills. He continues to develop and participate in conferences and workshops as well as other educational activities related to paediatric therapy. Training Therapists, teachers, caregivers and families to work with their children in reaching their potential.
Marc empathetically supports individuals and families in by setting SMART goals after rigorous assessment, using the latest standardized assessments in the field of paediatric Occupational Therapy. Ensuring that the goals set are realistic, fun and achievable. Marc extends his services as an Occupational Therapist from infants to adolescents. Training families and other caregivers, ensuring the knowledge he has is shared with every client he sees.
Marc uses a holistic approach, ensuring the biological, psychological and socio-emotional needs of his clients and their families are met, at times referring to other appropriate professionals within Priory Wellbeing Centre or at times outside agencies. Marc strongly believes empathy and compassion are critical components of therapeutic success, and always ensures a safe space where clients can have fun to develop, feel secure, and accepted.
In practice, Marc uses an integrative therapy approach, using several different modalities of therapy depending upon the specific needs of his client.
