Professional Experience
Dr. Ramez Abu Sabha is a licensed and registered Swedish Consultant Psychiatrist with over 22 years of experience in psychiatry, mental health, and psychological well-being—of which 16 years have been as a consultant specializing in psychiatry.
While his primary focus is adult psychiatry, Dr. Abu Sabha also holds expertise in short term management and assessment of child and adolescent psychiatry, academic research, and complex diagnostic assessments. He has served as a Senior Medical Supervisor and currently as Group Medical Director, overseeing multidisciplinary teams and clinical programs across multiple cities and countries. Throughout his career, Dr. Abu Sabha has provided consultant psychiatric care and program development in several European countries, and before moving to the UAE in Sweden, where he worked as a Senior Medical Supervisor, visiting consultant in psychopharmacology, community psychiatry, liaison psychiatry, and psychotherapy. His work bridges psychological assistance, integrated diagnostics, and evidencebased, tailored treatment plans, combining psychotherapy, psychopharmacology, and neurostimulation modalities with a strong emphasis on transcultural psychiatry and holistic patient care. Deeply committed to advancing mental health and emotional well-being, Dr. Abu Sabha has contributed to the creation and supervision of several community-based programs aimed at awareness, destigmatization, resilience-building, and preventive mental health education. During his tenure in Sweden, he founded and led one of the most recognized diagnostic and treatment teams in the Nordic region, integrating individual-centered psychiatric care with community and cultural awareness. Currently, Dr. Abu Sabha serves as Group Medical Director and Senior Medical Supervisor at the Alkalma, Aspris by Alkalma Group, where he combines daily clinical practice with program development for both inpatient and outpatient services. His responsibilities include designing and implementing comprehensive well-being and mental health programs, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, case managers, and institutional commissions to promote psychological resilience and societal well-being throughout the Mena region.
