Professional Experience

Rashika Singh has been an Occupational Therapist for over 10 years and qualified in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. Rashika was a member of the Golden Key Honours Society.

Rashika started her career working at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital (the largest hospital in the Southern Hemisphere). Within this role, she gained extensive knowledge working the various fields in paediatrics, including neonatal ICU, juvenile arthritis, hand therapy, paediatric trauma and orthopedics, general medical and genetic conditions, developmental / neurological disorders and child psychiatry.

Rashika then moved to the UK and worked at the Royal London Hospital for 3 years where she gained knowledge and experience as a specialist paediatric occupational therapist. Her caseload included supporting people with trauma, orthopedics, musculoskeletal and neurology-based diagnosis, as well as running a specialised paediatric hand therapy clinic. During her career, Rashika Singh has also worked within schools and private practice/clinic/community settings in South Africa and London. 

Rashika moved to the UAE in 2021 and before working at Priory-Aspris, she worked at a long-term care paediatric facility in Al Ain, where she focused on improving client’s quality of life.

Rashika is always seeking to learn and grow her professional skills and practical knowledge, successfully completing intensive training and courses. This includes sensory integration therapy, splinting, complex wheelchair seating, Snoezelen room training, therapressure brushing program and Level 1 DIR Floortime Model Training. Alongside successfully completing training and courses, Rashika is innovative, creative and enjoys a challenge. She has started up numerous projects, compiled research protocols, developed assessments and carried out education and teaching/training throughout her career as an OT.

Rashika has also gained diverse skills and practical knowledge using her skills as an OT to volunteer with various organizations abroad, including India and Nepal. Rashika loves to see her clients happy and thriving, and her goal is to enable clients to engage effectively in all levels of function within their activities of daily living, including school, home and play.
