Professional Experience

Katy is an experienced Occupational Therapist with more years of experience when it comes to treating children and adolescents.

Katy completed her community service at a small District Hospital in KwaZulu-Natal and a school for learners with special needs. Following this, Katy was offered a position at Pro Nobis Lsen School for children with a variety of neurological and undiagnosed conditions. Over the next years of working at Pro Nobis, Katy was involved in starting up the rehabilitation department, as well as a vocational programme for learners with special needs.

Katy started working at Al Jalila Children’s Hospital in Dubai where she has spent years focusing on outpatient and inpatient services. This included supporting children with cerebral palsy, rare genetic conditions, down syndrome, sensory processing difficulties and spinal muscular atrophy.

Katy successfully completed her Sensory Integration training and is SIPT certified. She is an Interactive Metronome Practitioner, SOS Feeding Therapist, as well as completing the full course in DIR Floortime.
