  • What is mental health?

    Mental health is a term referring to a person’s cognitive, behavioural and emotional wellbeing.

    Mental health according to the Oxford dictionary is: “a person’s condition with regard to their psychological and emotional well-being”.

    The condition of a person’s mental health can have an effect on daily life, relationships and their physical health.
  • Can people with a mental illness recover?
    It is possible to live a satisfying life and achieve significant relief from a mental health diagnosis, with many recovering and alleviating their symptoms. A comprehensive treatment plan tailored for an individual with a mental health condition can provide effective relief as well as provide the tools to help the person effectively manage their mental health condition.

    Our treatment packages are tailored to you to ensure you can achieve your full potential at your own pace. Some of the methods we adopt include individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, mindfulness, dialectical behavioural therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy.   • What mental health conditions do you treat?
    We provide outpatient treatment for a range of mental health conditions at our clinics, including depression, anxiety, stress, eating disorders, OCD, anger management issues, trauma, sleep disorders, relationship problems and young people’s mental health conditions.   • What type of therapy do you specialise in?
    Our team of qualified doctors, nurses, counsellors and psychotherapists offer a range of bespoke therapies to help each patient begin their recovery. We tailor our treatment to your individual needs.
  • Where will my therapy sessions take place?

    Therapy sessions will take place at one of our purpose built wellbeing centres in either Dubai or Abu Dhabi. You can find out more about our centres here.

    If you have opted for online therapy, your sessions will take place via our HIPAA compliant Zoom licensed Healthcare platform.
  • Do you offer online therapy?
    Yes, In order to be flexible and meet the needs of our patients, we offer online therapy that provides you with access to expert specialists from the comfort of your own home, at a time that is convenient for you. More information about this service is available on our website here.
  • Do you provide evidence-based practice?

    Yes, all our treatment and therapies are based on strong evidence and the latest research.

  • What is a multidisciplinary team (MDT) and treatment/care plan?

    A multidisciplinary team (MDT) is comprised of all the clinician (e.g. Psychologist, Psychiatrist), jointly providing your care.

    Your treatment/care plan sets out how your treatment/care needs will be met and the expected outcomes. You will be fully involved in your treatment and care decisions.

  • What do I do if I need urgent support?

  • What should I do if I’m worried about a relative or friend’s mental health?
    When someone you care about is suffering with symptoms of depression, stress, anxiety or another mental health condition, it is important to learn some ways you can support them and help them seek professional support.   • What is the difference between a psychiatrist and a psychologist?
    Both Psychiatrists and Psychologists have training in the way our brain works and how we respond to situations in our environment and experiences with our thoughts, feelings and emotions. Psychiatrists have attended medical school and along with diagnosing, they also prescribe medication. Psychologists have extensive clinical education and training however do not prescribe medication.
  • Can a family member or friend attend therapy with me?

    Yes, a family member or friend can attend therapy with you, if you wish.

    We invite family members to be a part of your therapeutic process with your consent.
  • Can I receive therapy sessions in my native language?
    The majority of our team are multilingual, being able to speak English and either one or two other languages, including Arabic, Turkish, Dutch, French, German, Urdu, Hindi, Kashmiri and Punjabi. You can read the profiles of our team here.
  • How can I find out more about the cost of therapy?

    The cost of therapy is tailored around the needs of an individual.

  • What are the payment options available?

    Payment for treatment is either through self-pay in the form of cash, debit or credit card, or by direct billing through the insurance companies Nextcare, Neuron, Aetna, Sukoon, Saada and AXA in Dubai. Daman insurance is accepted at our Wellbeing Centre in Abu Dhabi

    If your medical insurance is not provided through our accepted direct billing companies, all claims will need to be submitted by you to your insurance provider.

  • Will you keep my information private and confidential?

    Your privacy and confidentiality are our priority. All of our patients' information is kept under the strictest security and your name will never have to be associated with Aspris. Our wellbeing centres in Dubai and Abu Dhabi have the highest reputation for discretion and respect.

  • What do I do if I’m not happy with the therapist I’m seeing?
    The patient / therapist relationship is very critical in your therapeutic journey. It is very important that you have a good relationship with your therapist. If you are experiencing any conflict or dissatisfaction, it is always best to address this with your therapist directly. If you don’t feel you are able to do this, you can contact the Clinical Director or Medical Director to raise any concerns in confidence.
  • How do I leave feedback about my experience?
